Biography

Dr. Baswati Prasanth, Consultant Glaucoma and Anterior segment, has completed her MS Ophthalmology from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and Fellowship in Glaucoma and Anterior segment from Dr Shroff’s Eye Hospital, New Delhi. An academician and teacher by nature, she is the winner of A. D. Patwardhan Gold medal from University of Pune. A thorough clinician with empathy towards her patients she holds high regard among her colleagues and her patients, for her professional acumen and skills. Her ability to understand and relate well, mostly with the geriatric population, hails from her training in Geriatric Medicine. A born leader, administrator, and problem solver, she believes in being a trend setter. She was the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Ahalia Hospital, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Under her leadership, the department showed remarkable progress. A keen learner with an open mind and aptitude for research, she has been awarded the Senior Research Fellowship from the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi. She has published many papers in reputed journals and has been part of several clinical trials. A crowd puller, she has presented in many national and international conferences. Her Positive attitude towards life and everlasting smile has been a source of inspiration to many. The various conferences conducted by her successfully, speaks high of her excellent organizational skills. Being a retired Indian Air Force Officer makes her highly disciplined and punctual with great professional and social etiquettes.
