Ocular Genetics and Gene Therapy
Genetic basis of inherited retinal diseases will be the focus of this track. Recent successes in gene therapy for Leber congenital amaurosis and RP will be discussed. CRISPR and gene editing technologies in ophthalmology will be reviewed. Genetic counseling for patients and families will be emphasized. Advances in molecular diagnostics for ocular conditions will be shared. Research on stem cell-based therapies for retinal repair will be presented. Challenges in clinical translation and regulatory issues will be debated.
